Communities struggle first to get resources directed to areas that have seen disinvestment, and then once those resources start coming in, struggle to ensure that those resources benefit the whole community instead of contributing to gentrification and displacement. Land banks can be one tool to maintain community influence. But are they always an appropriate solution? What are the key ingredients needed to make sure they’re effective?
